RIACS News RIACS Scientist Dan Werthimer Chairs Annual Center for Astronomy Signal Processing and Electronics Research Workshop at the Harvard-Smithsonian HIGHLIGHT: RIACS Visiting Scientist Dr. Dan Werthimer of the University of California Berkeley is leading a collaboration of 30 universities to develop next generation instrumentation for radio astronomy, with the instrumentation developed being used in most of the world?s largest radio observatories. RIACS also provided support for an international workshop at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics with participants from ten countries, including participants from MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Caltech, BYU, NRAO, Arecibo, UC Berkeley, Greenbank Observatory, and SKA. Funding for this project was provided through the NSF grant titled: ?Low Cost, Rapid Development Instrumentation for Radio Telescopes?.
