RIACS Technology Highlighted in Xerox White Paper

Paper describes faster, more accurate business intelligence using Smart XML

RIACS implementation of XDB and Smart XML technologies at NASA were recently highlighted in a white paper released by Xerox. The document, entitled ‘DocuShare Extensible Database White Paper’ describes how Xerox is using XDB and XML technology to integrate structured and unstructured business information.

At NASA, RIACS has utilized this technology as the foundation of several key information systems within the Agency, including the NASA Performance Management Tool (PMT). This application allows for rapid integration of planned vs actual financial information from NASA’s Oracle and SAP systems as well as Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations created by users. By using PMT, reporting time has been dramatically reduced by as much as 85%, while data input errors and discrepancies have been virtually eliminated.
